4 Tips for better on-page SEO

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is perhaps the most important thing for any blogger and that’s what can make or break his career. Many people don’t really understand SEO and that is why they consider it just one thing. But honestly it also has two different parts. And, in case we want to achieve great results from our efforts in search engine optimization, we should be working on both. Those two parts are;

a) On-Page-SEO

On page SEO is everything that you do with your article or post. It includes choosing and placing the right keyword and doing all similar things. In simple words, everything done on any given page that you want to rank high in Google is called On-Page-SEO.

b)      Off-Page-SEO:

Off-Page-SEO is everything that you do all over the web to improve your search engine visibility. That includes backlinks building, social media sharing and similar things.

Today, are going to talk about On-Page-SEO and I’m going to show you some things that you should always do to ensure good rankings in search engine result pages.

  1. Use Keyword At Start Of Title:

Search engines consider the first part of your article headline as the most important one. Hence, that is where you should be placing your keyword. I am suggesting you to do this because it would make the ranking process a whole lot easier and search engines including Google will know exactly what the whole post is about.

For this purpose, you should be using keywords that are short and can fit everywhere because you don’t want to make your title look stupid to people just for the sake of making it attractive to search engines. Hence, think about it before deciding.

  1. Use H Tags For Subheadings:

After headline of article the second most important thing is subheadings. Google uses subheadings to understand what article is about and if it is matching with the keyword or not. Hence, you should always make it easy for Google to identify subheading from other elements of article and the best way to this is by using H tags for subheadings.

In case you are not familiar with H tags, I’m going to explain them just a little bit.

There are a total of 6 H tags. H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6. H1 is for the most important subheadings and many people use it for titles too which is wrong. You can use any of the H tags from 2-6 for subheadings.

  1. Must Insert Keyword at Start & End:

Keywords are not something that you can just put anywhere in an article and then start to hope for the best. There are some places in every post that are considered more important by Google bots than the rest of article.

This is no-brianer that you should always place keywords in first line or at least paragraph of your title to make Google sure about what your article has. But many researches have shown that last paragraph of any given post is also very important. Hence, it is suggested to use your focused keyword both in first and last paragraph of your post to ensure better search engine visibility.

  1. Caption Pictures On Page With Keywords:

Pictures can play an important role in bringing more traffic to your blog and it is wise move to always insert your keywords into the caption area of pictures. This is because “one picture is worth 1,000 words” and same applies in case of Google. If you put keywords as picture’s caption, you will also get more traffic from images search like Google Image Search and Yahoo! Image Search.

If you have plenty of images indexed in Google Images Search for good keywords but you still don’t get much traffic, you can use some plugins to break out of the frames. One of those great plugins is Imaguard.

Final Words:

Search engine optimization is not hard at all and the reason it seems like a trouble to some is because they don’t try to properly learn how this works out. It is quite obvious that even if you try to do the easiest thing in the world that you have no information about, you would find that hard. But if you have proper knowledge and planning to use that knowledge, you can pull of the hardest things in the world with ease. It is all in your own hands.

Hence, try to understand SEO and then start applying it because there is no benefit of learning without actually applying that information.

I hope you learned some stuff from this post and now you would be able to create better pages that are optimized for search engines.
